Sanctioning

Please note: new this year (2009), if you join as a member organization, you will receive a $25 discount off the total sanction price of each of your events. Prices are listed in the sanction instruction document attached.

Member organizations are clubs, race management companies, sports entities and race directors. To join as a member organization, see the Member Organization Instructions, complete the Club Registration Form and send in with a check for $50 for your annual membership. If you host 2 or more events per year, you will cover the cost of joining.

The Insurance brochure lists some of the benefits of joining as a member organization as well as the benefits of sanctioning your event.

Our insurance provides a general aggregate of $3 million per event and $1 million per occurrence. If you are dealing with a third party that requires $3 million per occurrence, please provide a copy of the contract or permit which details that additional coverage is required.

Please complete a separate certificate request for each third party requiring to be named as additionally insured.

Race Directors:

Sanctions should have

Applications for sanction must be areceived by the local association office no later than 30 days prior to your event. There is a $150 late fee for applications received less than 30 days prior to the event.

Certificates of Liability Insurance will be issued by the insurance company. A separate form must be submitted for each entity requiring a certificate. Certificate requests must be filled out completely, including the name, address, phone and fax of each entity. By sanctioning the event, event organizers are automatically covered and should not complete a certificate request for their organization.

The National office is now requiring us to file post event forms. Please mail or fax your post event form to our local office no later than 15 days after your event.

Please complete an Incident Report Form whenever an "incident" occurs, whether a claim or threat of damages is made or not. Completed forms can be sent to American Specialty as noted on the Report form.

The Sanctioning fees are based on race size as follows:

All Fees must be paid at the time of application. Make checks payable to USATF-Utah.

Elite Sanction Addendums need to be completed only if your race awards at least one individual prize greater than $500.00, invites non-resident foreign athletes, serves as a national championship or is subject to formal drug testing procedures.

Sanctioned races will be advertised on our local web page calendar. If you would like a link to your event web site, please indicate that address when returning paper work.
